In its monthly National Trends Report iafrica.com's online property search portal PropertyGenie ranked South Africa?s top 10 agencies in order of alerts sent for their listings during the December 2009 period. RE/MAX came in at first place, scoring the most alerts for its featured properties.

The PropertyGenie?s database includes residential properties listed with all South Africa's leading real estate agencies. Its trends report is compiled using a range of data sources, including listing price information and consumer search behaviour.
Top agencies
Pam Golding came second while Seeff Properties earned third place.
Other agencies that made the grade include Durr Estates in fourth place, Jawitz Properties in at number five, Harcourts in sixth place, Lew Geffen Sothebys International at number seven, OnTime Properties at number eight, Rawson Properties in ninth place and, at number ten, the Leapfrog Property Group.
Top 10 regional alert earners
Other interesting findings in the report include the top 10 regional areas.
These were, listed from first through to tenth, the Cape Metropolis (Western Cape) at number one, followed by the Johannesburg Metropolis (Gauteng), Pretoria (Gauteng), the Durban Metropolis (KwaZulu-Natal), the Overberg (Western Cape), the Garden Route (Western Cape), North Coast (KwaZulu-Natal), the Boland (Western Cape), the East Rand (Gauteng) and in tenth place the West Coast (Western Cape).
Top 10 hottest suburbs
With regards to the most popular suburbs Gauteng was outshined with an impressive eight out the 10 listed areas located in the Western Cape.
These areas were, ranked from first place to tenth place, Claremont (Western Cape), Sea Point (Western Cape), Bryanston (Gauteng), Hout Bay (Western Cape), Constantia (Western Cape), Rondebosch (Western Cape), Morningside (Gauteng), Cape Town CBD (Western Cape), Durbanville (Western Cape) and, lastly, Greenpoint (Western Cape).
