document.write("I hv just received my Jo'burg rates statement, and was absolutely shocked to see that the electricity service charge had gone up from R147 to R226.56 representing an increase of 35.0%.  This is before the additional 31.0% electricity charge being imposed from 1/7/09.  All this also affects the extra amount of VAT being charged.  Where is this country going?  Why don't they go out into the outside financial world and borrow the required monies like any other normal country, instead of expecting the general public to pay for their mistakes and extravagances. What are the pensioners and other people on fixed incomes expected to do about increases of this magnitude?     . robinson");
