document.write("While unfair banking practices are another thing altogether (penaltiers etc)they cannot be blamed for a sluggish housing sector.
This was mainly caused by estate agents who with their hogwash and commission greed duped the public into a hyperinflationary price spiral that was totally out of proportion to the increase in intrinsic value of properties.
In a way banks are also victims of this estate agent hype as they believed this nonsense of #property can only go up\" which was in reality only a bubble blown up by estaste agents and developers who were out for the \"easy buck\".
This lead to a very lax lending policy as banks thought of their loans as safely collateralised by property.
Couple this with a generally gullible public, which is not debt-shy at all and you have a rapidly inflating bubble.
Now throw in a sudden unexpected economic downturn and all the ingredients for a rapid price collapse are in place.
Banks are obviouasly now risk averse as they have been severely burnt, as many of their houseloans
are now under-collateralised.
Now these bubble blowers, who caused all this damage in the first place are looking for scapegoats in the banking sector instead of calling a spade a spade.
Anyhow estate agents are a totally parasitic industry.It is time for the public to wake up to that fact.

They are parasites of the first order fleecing our accounts with service fees, bank charges and a whole host of \"fees\". My advice to any individual or concern - run one account and withdraw all your cash and support for their \"supporting services\" - insurance, estate planning etc etc - they are theives in suits.The take no risk at all and want you to sign surety for every little advance, they charge initiation fees / valuation fees etc - they spend their energy dreaming up all sorts of new fees they can charge their \"clients\". They are ticks - let us dip them properly and eradicate them once and for all.. Dave Rigby");
